On a bright Monday morning, Swansea Seventh-day Adventist church held its first charity table-top sale, organised by Irving Saunders. 29th August, Bank Holiday Monday, was the perfect day to look for deals. Clothing, knick-knacks, toys and books lay on tables scattered around the foyer and café area waiting to be found by their new owners and seasoned bargain hunters!

In addition to bargains, shoppers also took the opportunity to have a closer look at the amenities of the new church building. Invitations to the Community Health Screening Day – held on 18th September and other services, such as women’s clubs were also offered by Lil.

Wallace, kitchen-staff member for the day, ensured guests were happy by inviting customers to have a free hot or cold drink and delight their taste buds with homemade Welsh cakes. The children also added excitement to the day – enjoying each other’s company and playing games with balloons. We even had hair braiding!

Overall, it was a successful day – making acquaintances, snagging deals and having a good time. Proceeds raised will go to the African Community Centre and Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre. Although this was the first of its kind, hopefully, it won’t be the last!
